Terroir

Four terroirs dating back to the Triassic period or older, composed of hard limestone and marly soils. The alternation of marly-limestone deposits is the result of 60 million years of marine sedimentation (Jurassic).
Also composed of residual clays or pebbled alluvium, non calcareous, even acid, strewn with chaff and flint. The sandstone rocks, in the south, date back 240 million years.

Winemaking

This cuvée is a selection of barrels from four terroirs.
It is only made in great years. It is matured in barrels and demi-muids for up to 22 months in order to gain even more finesse and subtlety.

Tasting

True quintessence!
Ampelopsis is a confidential cuvée is one of the most qualitative of the appellation.
The result today is an absolute model of mineral depth and intensity.
This haute-couture work, fine-tuned by watchmaker's precision maturing, results in a sublime collection of intense and nuanced aromas, formidably concentrated and always energetic. The bouquet delivers fruit of exceptional quality, with pear and apple, candied orange peel and lemon tart. All wrapped up in delicious gourmet aromas of fresh butter and marzipan.
On the palate, the wine, full and very textured at the start, gives off phenomenal energy. Its verticality and mineral intensity, very spicy, clearly draw us to the side of certain prestigious Côte de Beaune crus... The persistence is enormous, on a salty then roundness register, which never ceases to make us salivate. The exceptionally sapid finish stretches over a veil of delicately minty, even camphorated freshness and an admirable purity of fruit.
An inhabited and lively wine that tells a story and comforts both body and mind.
This is undeniably a great wine for laying down and a great wine for gastronomy.
