South facing plot, situated at a height of 350 m on a clayey-limestone soil.

Winemaking

Manual harvesting. Transport of the grapes to the winery in small 20 kg crates to ensure optimum quality. Gravity vatting without pump.
Vatting for 23 days in stainless steel tanks. Natural fermentation without yeasting, fining or sulphiting. Fermentation of the Grenache and Syrah blend in a single vat, no blending of the wines. Aged 24 months in 42 hectolitre casks.
Respecting these seasonal cycles allows us to obtain wines with exceptional vitality, without using the classic practices of modern oenology.

Tasting

Patience is the key to well-being!
The red wines of Gasqui are built for ageing, it is a strength as much for typicity with, after a few years, wines at their peak : subtle, fond and sweet.
Straightforward and racy with aromas of garrigue, this Roche d'Enfer has a beautiful structure.
Deep, intense, limpid garnet in colour, it has a powerful initial nose, evolving rapidly towards ripe red fruit and iris, carnation, the markings of the beautiful Grenache de Gasqui which dominates in the blend with the Syrah...
What can be said of the mouth which has a very big presence on the attack with tannins and an uncompromising perception. Superb freshness and drinkability.
A good ageing potential but also to be drunk young. Now!
